Semprius is a North Carolina based clean energy company that produces high efficiency concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) modules. It is in the process of rapidly scaling from lab prototypes to a pilot plant and then to high volume. All operational policies and procedures need to be established and a team recruited and deployed. Job description: SMT Process Engineer IV
?Support SMT Line: Picn-n-Place, Screen Printer, Reflow oven, AOI, Custom Inspection tester:
- Operate the machines as required
- Troubleshooting the machines when operators run into issues
- Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as requied
- Lead safety, yield, cycle time, throughput, manufacturing techniques and process improvement efforts and drive process continuous improvement
- Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters
- Train and/or assist in operator, technician, and engineers training
- Maintaining/Augment Documentation: SOPs, Maintenance, equipment specifications
- Prepare and maintain training material
- Evaluate and select various engineered materials
- Lead cost improvements/reduction programs
?Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production
?Design new and/or modify and implement process in support of newe product development activities jointly with Design Engineering
?Interface with production for all activities associated with new process implementation, transfers, development, qualification, deployment and maintenance of new tool, production line and/pr increasing capacity and/or replication capacity.
?Lead FMEA and DFx toll/process studies
?Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products
?Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, similar education background (Bachelor?s)
?At least 5 years of relevant experience as a SMT process engineer supporting and improving yield of a SMT manufacturing production line in electronics.
?At least 2 years of relevant experience as a process engineer specifying and designing tools and equipment used in a SMT production line in electronics.
?Basic understanding of 55 and other Lean principles
?Strong knowledge of FMEA DFx principles
?Advanced applied knowledge of Microsoft Office platform, including Visio
?Advanced applied knowledge of data analytics: Pareto, run chart, X-Bar, Box plot
?Six Sigma Green Belt or similar background preferrd
?Familiar with standard project management techniques such as the PMI framework
?Advanced knowledge of Minitab or JMP preferred.
?Ability to read and understanding GD&T compliant drawings
?Autocad or similar CAD tool knowledge preferred.
?Demonstrates advanced technical skills to conduct on the job training, highly skilled with ability to move between projects and demonstrates broad knowledge of functional techniques and has input to process improvement
?Solid written and oral communications; Ability to constructively collaborate with Engineers, operators and technicians in a multi-discipline environment
?Ability to work in a fast-pace team environment
?Ability to occasionally safely lift up to 20lbs by him/herself
?Ability to occasionally work with proper PPE to manipulate chemicals such as acids, IPA and silicone
?Ability to work daily in Henderson, North Carolina
