The Product Engineer will serve as the technical interface between the design and test development team and the production side (Front End and Back End). This individual will be responsible for all manufacturing-related processes in the development and transition-to-manufacturing of Calxeda products and systems. The Product Engineer will work to improve the product quality and secure the product reliability by balancing cost of test and test coverage that could impact production. In addition, he/she will drive identification and resolution of all failures through pro-active interface with the design team, test team, systems team, software team, apps team, and manufacturers and support failure analysis throughout the product life cycle.
Responsibilities:
--Ability to evaluate process controls and implement yield enhancements across production process.
--Plan and execute product reliability requirements including development of related hardware.
--Interact with internal teams to perform product characterization and optimize production test.
--Work directly with out-sourced manufacturing for continuous product cost reductions.
Education/Qualifications:
--BSEE or equivalent, plus minimum of 10 years of semiconductor product engineering related experience.
--Direct experience building, nurturing and effectively managing supplier relationships across wafer foundries, OSATs, CEs, and ODMs.
--Knowledge of integrated circuits in CMOS technology.
--Strong analytic work methodology and problem solving skills.
--Yield analysis across manufacturing process for the purpose of continuous improvement and associated cost reductions.
--Working knowledge of:
-Analysis of data and failure reporting using statistical methods and tools.
-Foundry and assembly manufacturing processes.
-Product reliability and qualification.
--Supplier and vendor management and daily interface.
--Project management and leadership capabilities.
--Skilled at building and maintaining relationships across organizations and cultures.
--Team player, effective communicator, self-motivated.
--International travel, potentially up to 15% of the time.
--Preferred:
-Device package design and development.
-Understanding of device architecture and usage a strong plus.
-Contract negotiation a strong plus.
