Job Description:
We are seeking a luxury travel expert to lead our community management and social media programs. You must be an excellent writer with previous experience blogging or writing about luxury / high-end travel. You must also have experience managing and organically growing an online community, forum, or social presence.
As the company's luxury travel expert, you will gather interesting information internally across departments and communicate that information creatively to our customers and fans across our own luxury travel forum, blog network, and social media channels like Facebook and Twitter.
You will be responsible for day-to-day conversations with the community, presenting new information, facts, blog posts, photos that create discussion, sharing and brand loyalty. You will write and post messages, monitor discussions and respond to fans. You will set the creative strategy to grow each social channel, and report monthly on results.
Additional responsibilities include: interacting with tourist boards and hotels to create joint promotions to grow the communities and scheduling online chats, promotions and contests that benefit the communities.
As a social media and blogging expert, you will be expected to understand the dynamics of all the different social media environments and be able to navigate the space comfortably.
Required Experience
Exceptional writing skills are required ? you must be able to tweet and blog and know the difference in tone, voice, and appropriate length
You must live and breathe LUXURY travel ? hotels, resorts, destinations and trends specific to the high-end travel segment.
5+ years in the travel industry as a travel agent, travel writer, travel PR / public relations manager, travel blogger or hospitality marketer
2-3 years of social media experience. Candidates who have organically developed a Facebook or Twitter following of more than 5,000 strongly desired.
Must be familiar with social media platforms, editorial, and measurement tools
Familiarity with vBulletin is a huge plus
Must be social, ambitious, self-driven, personable, and have a positive attitude.
Location Requirements
You must be able to work from our Los Angeles office at least 2 days per week

Minimal travel is required
