Our new social public relations manager should have three to five years of experience in online social community management, and be able to develop strategies that deliver measurable outcomes. In addition, she/he should understand media relations and have either managed a communications agency or served inside an agency.
Building, managing, and engaging Vocus online communities through multiple social platforms
Positioning Vocus as a leader in the social media space, providing an example for businesses of all sizes who want their social presences to enhance their brand
Providing customer service, technical support and a personalized customer experience through multiple social platforms
Creating an authentic brand 'voice' through social media that instills 'likeability'
Providing thought leadership through content such as blogs, infographics and videos on industry trends and news
Global social media strategy that includes contributing ideas and consultation for Vocus' other social properties overseas
Educating businesses of all sizes about the importance of an integrated marketing strategy that includes public relations, marketing, social media, press releases, email and other mediums
Measuring the success of social media efforts and presenting findings to Leadership team
Creating an immersive brand experience that motivates prospects and customers gravitate to the brand
Creating opportunities for sales through social media
Staying up-to-date on trends on the top social media platforms as well as emerging platforms and creating plans to infuse them into current social media strategy
Intensive relationship-building with members of the media and top industry influencers
Active PR pitching and securing media coverage for all of Vocus' brands
This position is based at Vocus Headquarters in Beltsville, MD, and reports to the head of public relations and content marketing. Salary and benefits are competitive. Interested candidates should also submit one past social media case study and two writing samples.
The ability to develop and deploy social media and media relations strategies
Comprehensive knowledge about contemporary social tools
Online community management experience, including customer relations best practices
Past experience deliver results that map to organizational key performance indicators (KPIs)
Media relations experience, including the ability to brief executives and develop press releases; current media contacts in the marketing or technology sectors are extremely helpful
Understanding of the online marketing sector, including blogs and communities
Knowledge about cloud computing
Strong writing skills
Agency experience; either managing one or employment with one
A bachelor?s degree
