SilkRoad is seeking a self-motivated Development Manager in the San Francisco area to provide strategic direction for application development and maintenance of current and future User Interface technologies. The ideal candidate should be 30% hands on technical (can lead by example or provide technical leadership), 50% management and 20% architecture (can develop a vision for the technology future). Identifies new technologies and tools to support and improve our ?life suite? of products. Provides strategic guidance and technical assistance.
Duties include:
Maintaining and extending the HeartBeat LifeSuite application as agreed to with product management;
Controlling and tracking project performance, time allocations, and quality by constantly evaluating project progress and conducting regular team status meetings;
Working with support and operations to quickly diagnose, correct and prevent future occurrences of application performance and stability issues;
Remaining continuously aware of business and technical issues and actively participates in the recommendation of creative solutions;
Collaborating with product management in order to fully understand business priorities organization as a whole.
Required Skills
Demonstrated hands on leadership experience with the software development life cycle; from product conception through delivery, and the ability to meet aggressive schedules;
Proven experience in managing projects and delivering products on time and within scope;
A track record of hiring and building high performance software teams;
Proven track record of effectively working well with people of all levels and disciplines such as Design, Application Engineering and other technical teams within the company;
Proven track record of developing commercial end-user applications; architecting and implementing large-scale software systems;
Extremely competent at the following technologies: ASP.net, Advanced/Complex HTML, Advanced Javascript (DHTML), CSS ? Style Sheets, Extensible Markup Language (XML), , SQL Server 2008, Perforce;
Experience programming ASP.NET using C#. Ability to write clean, consistent, W3C compliant and well documented C# code following an established style;
Thorough knowledge of the .Net Master Pages;
Thorough understanding of ASP.NET page and control life-cycles, View State and session management;
Cross browser development experience targeting popular internet browser technologies including MS Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Google Chrome;
Use of complex 3rd party controls.
Required Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience;
Experience with relational database technology.
Preferred Experience:
Prior HR experience.
