Job summary:

The Software Engineer, Applications is responsible for developing and supporting all but the most complex application programs using various programming languages, technologies and development tools. The Software Engineer, Applications provides basic technical application consulting and support

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Ø Codes, tests, and debugs programs using current coding standards

Ø Designs, develops, and documents relatively simple Lawson applications

Ø Translates design into code following company standards for product quality and maintainability

Ø Promotes code to all supported development lines

Ø Performs maintenance on existing products

Ø Obtains peer review of the code

Ø Performs unit tests, regression tests, and system tests

Ø Works with Business Analysts to document the final implementation of the design

Ø Works with Information Developer to document product changes (manuals, release notes, etc

Ø Interacts with peers, other organizations, clients and vendors in a professional manner

Ø Provides complete, reliable and prompt information to management

Ø Understands and commits to organizational goals

Ø Volunteers experience and expertise to help others

Ø Works cooperatively and supportively within a team environment

Ø Mainly seen as a contributor on individual work products

Ø Provides analysis of current program functionality

Ø Performs code improvements to eliminate program errors while maintaining application functionality

Ø Provides programming estimates and programming status updates

Ø Recommends design alternatives to enhance the performance and functionality of application software

Ø Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the Lawson Applications supported by their department

Ø Develops and maintains knowledge of tools used in the software development environment

Ø Develops and maintains knowledge of current software development technologies, computer systems, and industry trends

Ø Understands basic customer business processes applicable to the application

Ø Contributes to the team's work products
