Software Architect - Storage SeaMicro
SeaMicro is seeking a talented architect to define & drive the storage architecture for the next generation product line. As the Storage Architect, the candidate will be responsible for providing deep technical expertise on our current & next generation, storage initiatives.Responsibilities:
Define & drive the storage architecture for the next generation product line.
Provide expert level guidance to the storage team & play the key contributor role, in designing & developing a robust & scalable storage solution.
Collaborate with Product Management to filter customer needs into use-cases & high level requirements and come up with suitable solutions.
Help in technically managing the new storage deployments including proof-of-concepts and pilots
Provide best practices and configuration for deploying SeaMicro?s storage solutions in existing & newer markets.
Think outside-the-box to study & bring newer storage technologies into the product.
Required Qualifications:
Expert level knowledge with SATA/SAS controller technologies, SAN, NAS & DAS storage architectures, and PCIe device interfaces
10+years of storage development experience on Linux kernels with knowledge of OS process scheduling, interrupt processing, synchronization mechanisms, memory and cache management
3+ years of experience, architecting storage products & solutions
Demonstrated ability to effectively document and communicate complex systems designs.
Good working knowledge of RAID.
Familiarity with Netapp and EMC Storage solutions, strongly desired.
Strong customer interaction & relationship skills
Highly motivated, enterprising, excellent team player, also able to work autonomously
A BS degree in CS/Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering is required; Graduate degree preferred
