Software Configuration Specialist
This position is based in Huntersville, North Carolina / Exton or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Configuration and Release Management group is responsible for code releases, general application configuration, analyzing and resolving escalated application support issues. Our technologies include Apache, Citrix, CRM, IIS, InstallShield, .NET, NT Command scripting, PowerShell, SQL, Subversion, Windows and XML.
The Configuration and Release Management group is seeking a qualified Software Configuration Specialist to work with senior technical staff in the areas of patch creation; configuration analysis; user account management; and analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. The selected candidate will ensure timely delivery of software updates; creation and application of software patches; account creation and removal for Citrix-based applications; documentation of configurations, processes and procedures; and provide coverage for production deployment activities.
This position requires off-hours availability.
Using strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, the Software Configuration Specialist will analyze issues escalated from the support organization to identify sources of issues and work toward a resolution. Some other key responsibilities include:
Investigating and diagnosing escalated issues
Working with Configuration and Release Management team to design, develop, debug, test, maintain and improve automated processes
Collaborating/cross-group interaction with developers, quality assurance testers, project managers and other groups or individuals which may have competing goals, schedules and demands
Providing support to software engineering teams for various projects
Communicating regular recommendations for maintenance of the systems
Prioritizing multiple tasks based on project, urgency, etc.
Coordinating tasks across multiple sites per project
Managing own work to meet schedule and communicate regularly on progress
Documenting and disseminating known issues associated with internal processes
The Software Configuration Specialist candidate will have a Bachelor?s Degree and 2-3 years experience in a technical information technology role. (Experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.) An example of prior experience is a candidate in an advanced information technology support role who is technically astute and ready to move into a more analytical/troubleshooting/problem resolution ownership role.
