Job Summary:
The Software Design Analyst works with the Engineering and Product Management teams to design web-based software solutions. Autotask is seeking a highly motivated individual with a talent for digesting complex information, analyzing it, and producing simple easy to user interfaces.
The goals of the Software Design Analyst are:
Be the point person responsible for understanding a projects goals and intentions and communicating potential solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
Provide elegant and simple design solutions that offer enhanced functionality while maintaining the integrity of the product as a whole.
Provide highly detailed design documentation as reference material for the Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance, and Training teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
Software Design Analysts perform the following duties:
Work with Product Management to identify and review fundamental business requirements.
Translate functional business requirements and use cases into elegant software designs.
Create storyboards/prototypes illustrating product features and business workflows.
Document storyboards/prototypes with pertinent processing details and constraints.
Write detailed functional requirement specifications documents which will include process flow, screenshots, information, business functions, logic, and revision history.
Formally present product designs to stake holders.
Work with Development and Quality Assurance teams to communicate desired project goals.
Perform design reviews on completed code.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:
1-3 years experience in user experience (UX) design.
Strong understanding of usability best practices, able to apply them to web applications.
Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and the software prototyping tool Axure is a plus.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Highly detail oriented.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-directed, self-motivated, positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a desire for continuous improvement.
A Bachelor?s Degree in a related field, HCI a plus
