Software Designer/Analyst Autotask

Job Summary:The Software Designer/Analyst is essentially a Business Analyst who works with the Engineering and Product Management teams to define, analyze, and prototype web-based software solutions. Autotask is seeking a highly motivated individual with a talent for digesting complex information, analyzing it, and producing simple, easy to use design concepts.
The goals of the Software Designer/Analyst are:
Be the point person responsible for understanding a project's goals and intentions and communicating potential solutions to a variety of stakeholders.
Provide elegant and simple design solutions that offer enhanced functionality while maintaining the integrity of the product as a whole.
Provide highly detailed design documentation as reference material for the Product Management, Development, Quality Assurance, and Training teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Software Designer/Analysts performs the following duties:
Work with Product Management to identify and review fundamental business requirements.
Translate functional business requirements and use cases into low-fidelity design concepts.
Create storyboards/prototypes illustrating product features and business workflows. Document storyboards/prototypes with pertinent processing details and constraints.
Write detailed functional requirement specifications documents which will include process flow, screenshots, information, business functions, logic, and revision history.
Work with Visual Designer to convert low-fidelity software designs into highly-refined prototypes that will result in an extraordinary user experience.
Formally present product designs to stakeholders.
Work with Development and Quality Assurance teams to communicate desired project goals.
Conduct validations and usability test of designs and early prototypes.
Perform design reviews on completed code.
Participate in the creation of user personas and use cases/scenarios.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have the following skills and experience:
1-3 years experience in a business analyst role.
1-3 years experience in user interface design.
Solid understanding of usability best practices, and how they apply to web applications.
Proficient with PowerPoint, Word, and Visio. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and the software prototyping tool Axure is a plus.
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
Highly detail oriented.
Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-directed, self-motivated, positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a desire for continuous improvement.
Experience/familiarity with professional service software and/or the IT Services domain is a strong plus.
