Software Developer III SeaMobile

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Software Developer III will architect, review, analyze, design, modify, develop and implement software-programming applications and products. The Developer writes code and complete programming and testing of applications. Designs, develops and implements SQL databases for strategic business units. Meets with User areas to compile and write Functional Specifications document. Converts project specifications and procedures to detailed logical flow charts for coding into specific computer languages.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Architect, develop, enhance, test, debug and maintain windows software applications along with web enabled applications to interface with systems currently used at MTN Satellite Communications.
Architect, develop, enhance, test, debug and maintain databases, such as MS SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 database along with stored procedures, triggers, and functions, MySQL, and Access.
Create and/or enhance Documentation and User Guides of products and processes.
Develop prototypes from functional specifications, application sub-systems and small systems.
Software development of windows and web-enabled applications in various programming languages.
Responsibility includes supporting existing systems and/or participating in new systems development.
Assist and mentor lower level developers in the design and development of software
Any other related duties/tasks as may be assigned.
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: Reports to VP of Product Development and works under the supervision of the Senior Software Developer. Interacts directly with internal and external contacts.
TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science/Computer and Information Science/Information Systems
10+ years experience in development of windows applications and web interfaces in a Microsoft Environment.
Microsoft Visual C.Net, Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, Microsoft ASP.Net
Visual Studio Tools
8+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
SQL Server 2005/2008 Database design and implementation
SQL Server 2005/2008 Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and Views
5+ Years Object Oriented Programming
Web Services development and support
5+ Years of JAVA programming
Possesses excellent verbal and writing skills
Capable of performing work with limited supervision.
Excellent debugging and analytical skills
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
This position requires heavy computer use. Office environment. Minimal US and International travel.
