Description:
PharmaSeq currently has an open position for a Software Developer. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding technical leader and a hands-on individual who demonstrates great creativity, ingenuity and resourcefulness with the drive to complete projects on time. Primary responsibilities include design and development of software for all of the control and data processing elements of various types of automated sample handling devices and preparation of microtransponder chip-based diagnostic kits. Education/Experience:
PharmaSeq uses Clojure, C#, and C for daily development. The successful can-didate shall have experience in C and/or C++ as well as experience in C# and/or Java. Experience in Clojure or another Lisp dialect is strongly desired. In place of Lisp experience, working familiarity with another functional or dynamic language is desired, with the expectation that the candidate will become proficient in Clojure. Experience with Git version control and Emacs and/or Vim is a plus. This position will require work on both low level microcontroller code as well as high level desktop and mobile GUI code.
In general, if you are good at picking up new things and mastering them, and consider yourself a "polyglot" programmer, this may be the position for you. A good candidate will be a strong self-motivated learner, feel comfortable shifting between projects requiring different skill sets, a good problem solver, highly creative, and a good team worker. Ability to take ownership of schedule and deliverables to meet program timescales are key.
This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with significant experience writing application software. Strong verbal and written communication skills, in English, and the ability to effectively interact on multi-disciplinary development teams are essential.
