Responsibilities
As a GenoLogics Software Developer, you must take a craftsman?s approach to software development and continually challenge yourself and others. As part of a self organizing scrum team, you will build elegant solutions to challenging data management and third party integration problems.
Requirements
You are a software developer to your very core ? you are passionate about making great software, software which is used by real customers
You thrive in a team environment and have a track record of building working software along with other developers
N-tier architectures, multithreading, loose coupling, message passing, horizontal scalability, dynamic languages and asynchronous models are not exotic concepts ? they are part of your day-to-day life as a developer
You are excited by, and keep up with, the trends in software development, from technologies to processes; you learn fast and adapt quickly to new concepts
You are committed to creating quality software and to continuous improvement
A degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Highly Desirable Experience and Attributes
Experience developing in Java, Groovy and Grails
Experience developing dynamic web applications using HTML, JavaScript and CSS
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, especially ExtJS, or JQuery
Real-life experience with Agile development approaches, especially Scrum
Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
A working knowledge of modern MVC frameworks like Spring
A grasp of database and object relationship modeling concepts
Development in a Mac or Linux-based environment
Experience with cloud-based development environments (EC2 etc.)
You have built and can demonstrate something you are proud of, preferably outside of work or school.
