Job Description:
WideOrbit is looking for a top notch software developer to join the team of our WO Master Control product that received the award for Innovative Technology at the 2012 NAB Show. WO Master Control is the industry's first, fully-integrated IT and DTV Master Control solution. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual to gain experience working on full cycle software development and get involved in prototyping new ways to do master control automation. The Software Developer will work on developing end user interfaces and systems integration of new and existing software applications. As part of that process, the qualified candidate will develop systematic tests to apply, and maintain quality standards for WideOrbit products.
What You?ll Also Do:
Perform wide range of activities associated with application analysis, programming and design functions
Design and suggest innovative modifications in applications systems.
Improve installation and operational procedures for various requirements like hardware, security, software storage, network and communications systems.
Develop specifications for communication systems, network, and software and hardware configurations
Create or acquire test data, testing and debugging to produce required results and revising the programs developed.
Research ways to improve efficiency and automation in the creation and maintenance of various database resources as well as managing activities associated with database management.
Perform various tasks which include preparing reports and documentation updates; researching best practices, new tools and technology; and interacting with internal and external personnel.
What We are Looking For:
Three+ years of experience in software engineering with at least one full cycle software development project.
Understand and have experience developing distributed web-based applications and services.
Ability to write functional and design specifications for web applications and services.
Proficient in modern web-based development using Internet Information Services (IIS), ASP.NET, ADO.NET, ECMAScript (Javascript, Microsoft Jscript), node.js, HTML5, CSS.
Strong knowledge of SQL programming on both MSSQL and MySQL databases.
An understanding of distributed web application security principles and state management.
Good knowledge of programming languages in general. Experience with Delphi and C#, C/C++ optional but would be a plus.
Strong IT skills and a good understanding of the internals and workings of MS Windows 2008 Server and experience with the Linux OS.
Experience in writing scripts to automate and integrate tools, functions and services across different operating systems.
Knowledge of the technical challenges around distributed storage and media streaming.
Ability to collect and analyze facts, to identify problems, and provide solutions.
