Software Development Director NetMotion Wireless

We offer an experienced Software Product Group Director the opportunity to have an immediate and lasting impact in a new product category. This position reports directly to the CTO.

There is a strong, collaborative relationship between managers, architects, developers, program managers and QA engineers as partners in the delivery of quality products. Direct the latest mobile and wireless networking technologies to shape the direction of a strategic and highly visible product.
Maintain the NetMotion Wireless tradition of high quality products and customer satisfaction.
Translate product vision into execution while managing a product group of software developers, development managers, QA managers, and QA developers.
Work collaboratively with executive management, product management and program management in setting direction for the product group.
Direct and guide product direction, architecture and design of software, including SaaS, networking and kernel-mode components.
Occasionally travel to customer locations to understand customer needs and communicate vision.
10+ years commercial software development experience and a minimum of 3-5 years management experience with teams as large as 20 people.
Proven software project management, program management, and people management. Product management experience a plus.
Microsoft Windows system level and application development experience.
Ability to mentor, manage, motivate, and direct a team of software developers, development managers, QA managers, and QA developers.
Verifiable ability to get projects shipped in a timely manner.
TCP/IP networking, PKI, UI, C/C++, C# or Java experience.
Past experience writing and debugging software for the Windows and .Net platforms
Demonstrated experience managing commercial software product releases. Must have been a major contributor on a release from conception to ship.
Solid understanding of software development life-cycle required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field. A Master?s degree in a related field or an MBA is desired.
