Zillow, Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer, Community Systems for its Seattle, Washington office.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Software Development Engineer position is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and operating world class software systems that support Zillow?s real estate website business. The position is responsible for the development of front end and back end server solutions, with an emphasis on backend services to support the community and real estate shopping experience on Zillow. This position also ensures the successful completion of code deliverables and that the quality of code meets specifications and is easily maintainable. This will include assessing business requirements; designing and implementing web based applications and backend services; performance tuning; working with operations, development, and business people to define and refine requirements; providing tier III and IV support; performing analysis and benchmarking of proposed designs; and working closely with other developers to solve critical development issues.
JOB REQUIREMENT: Bachelor?s Degree- in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related degree. Three (3) years of experience as a Software Development Engineer or a related occupation, including: 3 years of experience working on large scale systems, including experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational database platforms, C, C++, C#, or object oriented design methods; 3 years of experience in the design and development of server based software; 3 years of experience utilizing Linux or Windows based platforms; 3 years of experience using web related technologies, such as HTML, XML, SOAP, ASP, JSP, CSS, Jscript, or Ajax; and 3 years of experience developing software utilizing data structure and algorithmic design.
-Employer will also accept a Master?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related degree and one (1) year of experience in the skills and abilities listed above in lieu of a Bachelor?s degree and three (3) years of this experience.
Experience may be gained concurrently. Any suitable, equivalent combination of education, experience, or training is acceptable, as are foreign equivalent degrees.
