What Problems Would I Solve?
Working within the Technology team, the Software Development Engineer in Test will work with our developers to deliver high quality software solutions that delight our clients. The successful candidate will be someone who can operate independently, enjoys working across platforms developing test automation and who wants to roll up their sleeves to ensure that we have high quality products, including manual testing when needed to close the gaps on the test matrix. This person must be ambitious and have the desire and ability to make a difference in a fast growing environment. You need to take quality to heart, and think about it from a user?s mindset. You must be willing to stand up to that quality and hold others accountable to it.
? Work closely with development teams to ensure high quality shipping features
? Build QA automation infrastructure from the ground up for mobile and web product teams
? Keep on top of new automaton technologies and frameworks to experiment and discover new testing avenues
? Work alongside developers writing test automation and coach them to adopt new frameworks
? Provide manual testing as needed, and advise and mentor our manual QA testers for the needs of an agile business to ship features quickly
? Work with QA tester to develop and document test scripts
? Mentor and on-board other testers
? Evangelize quality internally, and ensure that product owners and other key stakeholders are aware of issues that should be addressed
? Assist with quantifying customer and business impact of outstanding bugs/issues
Who Would I Work With? Who Would I Work For?
The Software Development Engineer in Test will report to leadership within the Technology team, which is made up of a talented group of 14 engineers, developers and designers. He/She will work with various members of the Technology team in the day to day. This person will coordinate with the product development team to ensure the seamless rollout of new products while also working alongside our team of developers to identify and fix bugs in our current product pipeline. This individual will also act as a mentor to our Quality Assurance interns and should be excited about the opportunity to mentor and develop new team members as the QA team grows.
When will I start? What will I make?
Ideal candidates will be local (based in Chicago) and have availability to start a new full time position in the next 3-6 weeks. The interview process should take no more than 2-4 weeks from initial phone interview to offer letter. Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or related field
3+ years of Software Engineering on a QA team with demonstrated capability of building testing automation frameworks
Knowledge of QA methodologies, test case writing, test tools, and Agile processes
Experience testing web and mobile applications
Experience testing 3d is a plus
Experience with API testing
Experience managing suites of automated test cases (smoke, regression, load, etc.)
Experience using the latest test automation and scripting frameworks, such as:
Selenium and Selenium Grid with C#
Cucumber and/or Robot
Jmeter and/or LoadRunner
TestDirector, Test Manager
Strong analytical and logic analysis skills
Capable of troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis
Highly organized and detail oriented
Possess strong communication skills
Is intelligent and passionate about what they do
