We're looking for talented engineers to join our Infrastructure Team. You'll be expected to build, troubleshoot, and maintain systems, networks, and internal tools. We value efficiency, automation, and agility. The team wields a wide range of knowledge on services that power the backend, frontend, and infrastructure-specific components. The team has worked on database design, monitoring systems, and private cloud management tools. Infrastructure Engineers work throughout the entire stack, from highly concurrent backend components to the interfaces engineers interact with every day. We are the foundation of Yammer.com, and the product engineering team, and our job is to accelerate, and scale them.

Your Responsibilities:
Handling serious outages, and site problems on Yammer.com to ensure site reliability under any condition.
Capacity planning to identify potential bottlenecks in the system before they arise in production and alleviating them.
Security is key at Yammer as some of the world's biggest companies trust us with their data. Your job is to ensure it stays that way.
Automation is king. Your job is to remove repetitive tasks for all of engineering. You should never do any one thing more than three times.
Networking is the basis of any low-latency, distributed, fault-tolerant application. You must ensure that data is able to find
Accelerate engineering by making sure they have the reliable underlying infrastructure and software necessary in order to ship their product on time.
Your Skills & Character Traits:
Programming Languages: One of the three preferred
o Ruby
o Java
o Python
In your ideal world, you would automate yourself out of the job with software.
Move quickly, and adapt to changing conditions. We solve a huge array of problems with a variety of different technologies. A single engineer may touch a database, router, and configuration tools in one day.
You understand troubleshooting, and design of distributed, fault-tolerant systems. You must be apply differential diagnosis to a variety of failure conditions under stress, and execute quickly to alleviate the problem.

Candidates must be able to meet all federal government security screening requirements as indicated for this role. Federal security screening requirements call for applicant to verify U.S. Citizenship. Additional customer screening requirements may include additional items such as, but not limited to: specialized agency background checks (either national or local) and fingerprinting, as well as the ability to obtain a government personnel security clearance. All employees hired into roles supporting Cloud Offerings will also be required to pass Microsoft background checks prior to the start of employment and every two years thereafter.
