Software Development Leader Navigating Cancer

Responsibilities:
Be the hands-on leader of our agile, highly productive and experienced web application development team in the development of all aspects of our product; including MySQL, Ruby and RESTful Rails backend; HAML/CoffeeScript, Backbone.js and jQuery Mobile front end; unit and integration tests
Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile, Scrum development approach, and drive execution against project plans and delivery commitments
Translate functional and technical requirements into detailed project plans and timelines
Own the evolution of the software development discipline within the organization, including better reporting, tools, and evolution of development methodology
Drive and manage the bug triage process, ensure efficient testing and bug fixing process, and be an effective advocate for the development group
Requirements:
Experience leading, or being part of a successful web application development and launch team, going beyond initial development to a successful market deployment and necessary scaling
6+ years experience doing test-driven development on object-oriented web frameworks, with examples of production-deployed projects,
4+ years of leading a team of software engineers and managing an efficient, productive development process and lifecycle
Core experience in web technologies including:(a) HTML, CSS, (b) at least one dynamic language (e.g. Ruby, Python, Groovy), (c) at least one web application framework (e.g. Rails, Django, Grails, Express), and (d) at least one javascript framework (e.g. JQuery)
Must possess strong analytical and problem solving skills, be able to think creatively and communicate clearly, deal with ambiguity, and manage changing priorities
Must have bias for action, and experience making things happen in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Excitement for the mission of Navigating Cancer and a strong desire to impact an upand-coming health care technology start-up
BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field
The ideal candidate will also have:
Experience writing well-tested dynamic interfaces with Javascript, and experience with HAML, SASS/SCSS, CoffeeScript, Cucumber, Capybara, and Git
Contributions to the open-source community and experience with agile/rapid software development environments
This is for a full time, on-site position with the Navigating Cancer team. Our offices are in the Westlake/Queen Anne area in Seattle, and we offer competitive salaries and benefits.
