Software Development Manager Ensequence

If so, then we have an opportunity for you.Ensequence is looking for Software Development Manager who will build and lead a team developing cloud-based services used to enhance the Television watching experience. You?ll work with some of the latest Java open source technologies and develop web services that can scale dynamically based on demand. You?ll lead a team of smart engineers and architects, and work closely with product management as well as the executive team to determine priorities and define a direction aligned with our overall business strategy.
This is a key software development position, responsible for leadership, conceptualization, design, development and maintenance of a major element of the Ensequence product line.
Essential Functions
Work with Architects, Product Management, and other stakeholders to define the Enhancement Services infrastructure as well as prioritize services development
Utilize the Agile/SCRUM development model to delivery high quality services and software
Scrum master for local and remote teams
Create short and long term plans and estimates
Represent the current status of the project to senior management
Identify risks and mitigation plans
Ensure effective communications regarding the project to all key stakeholders in the company
Hire outstanding personnel
Manage individual and overall team performance. This includes writing and delivering formal performance reviews, but more importantly it includes providing the kind of ongoing feedback that helps get the most out of the team
Mentor and develop staff
Key Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor level degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Track record of delivering high quality software products
7+ years developing software products (ideally Enterprise or large scale web service software)
2+ years managing and leading teams of software engineers
Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodology is highly desired
Experience with the entire software product lifecycle (concept to delivery)
Strong knowledge of Enterprise Java
Software architecture and design expertise
Excellent written and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously are critical.
Experience designing and developing service oriented software (RESTful or SOAP/XML based web services)
Cloud-based, multitenant, SaaS experience is desired
