Description
We are currently seeking a Sustaining Engineering Project Manager for our Picis division of UnitedHealth Group. Picis has recently joined Optum and is now part of the UnitedHealth Group family of companies. Picis provides innovative information solutions that enable rapid and sustained delivery of clinical, financial and operational results in the acute care areas of hospitals.
The Sustaining Engineering Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from the definition of a work package through field test, as well as the ongoing maintenance of released product versions through service packs. The position serves as a single point of contact during product development, managing cross functional aspects of each project and ensuring a strong and seamless relationship through communications at all levels of management. The Sustaining Engineering Project Manager works across Product Management, Software Development, Software Quality, and Quality Assurance to identify and deliver on specific project requirements through project plans, work breakdown structures, milestones, and change control procedures.
In order to be successful, the Sustaining Engineering Project Manager will be highly organized, self directed, and have a strong drive for results.
Responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously
Facilitates recurring status meetings with the business, fields questions from the business, and handles issues that arise
Anticipates issues and acts proactively to address potential issues
Gathers and updates project materials, completing budgeting, forecasting, project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned documents
Speaks to details of the project to both the business and technical teams from beginning to end of all projects
Manages cross-functional interdependencies
Improves processes to optimize performance and value over time
Provides risk management and issue/problem resolution as required
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
5+ years experience managing software development projects
5+ years direct experience as a successful Project Manager using predictable processes
5+ years specific experiences leading software and matrixed teams to deliver quantifiable business results
5+ years experience demonstrating successful communications across a variety of audiences, including executives, business staff and technologies (both up and down the organization)
Bachelor's degree
Proficiency of MS standard packages: Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, and W2K/XP operating system at user level
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Agile Methodologies, Scrum Master is a plus
Proven track record of delivering software releases/projects on time
Experience with HP Quality Center preferred
PMP Certification is a plus
Six Sigma Green Belt is a plus
