Description
An entry-level software engineering position requiring a four-year degree in computer science or software engineering. Two years of industry experience preferred. Experience with biometrics a plus.
Lumidigm develops biometric technologies and delivers industry leading biometric products. The software engineering team rapidly builds and delivers high-quality, high-performance software solutions on both PC and embedded platforms. The work environment is both challenging and exciting. A significant amount of personal initiative is required to excel.
Responsibilities
- Develop diverse software packages and GUIs, including callable processing routines created from research-grade algorithms, for Windows, Linux and embedded system environments
- Develop and maintain automated build and integration testing environments including design and implementation test strategies to assess product performance in both prototype and production forms
- Assist in the design, implementation, and data analysis of multi-person biometric studies with the goal to analyze performance of prototypes and new products to guide iterative refinement of these products.
- Create test procedures and algorithms to support the development of production manufacturing tools
- Develop and implement software architecture and optimize source code and/or algorithms to meet performance requirements; define and develop application programmer interfaces and associated documentation
Professional experience
- Proficient in multiple computer languages and development platforms
- Software life cycle management experience
- Experience developing Windows-based applications from scratch
- Visual C++/C in Windows experience required; C/C++ in Linux and Win32/MFC/.Net desirable
- Multi-threading experience desirable
- Must be familiar with current software development practices
- Exposure to typical image analysis and compression methods helpful
- Exposure to common mathematical transforms such as Fourier, wavelet, morphological, Eigen analysis ideal, but not required
