Overview:
Yardsellr (http://yardsellr.com/) is a social buy and sell site that is like Craigslist and eBay but much more fun and social. Yardsellr has built a community of over 4MM people who are passionate about everything from Star Trek, to Elvis, from NASCAR, to Jewelry, from Guitars, to Computers.
Yardsellr is a fast-paced, innovative start-up which raised a Series A from Harrison Metal Capital and Accel Partners. We are located in San Francisco (SOMA at 2nd and Brannan) with easy access to Caltrain, MUNI and BART lines.
As one of the early Software Engineers you will be working with a fun team of super-talented people who are excited to change Commerce on the web. We are passionate about the latest technologies, about connecting people and about real product innovation. If you?re looking for a job where someone hands you a full spec that you?ll just implement verbatim, this is not the position for you. Instead, we?re looking for excellent coders who use their imagination with every feature they build to delight users.
Requirements include, but are not limited to:
? BS (MS preferred) from a top tier engineering school with a consistently good academic record
? 2+ years of industry experience
? Independent, self-driven, and passionate about delivering for the end-user
? Experience delivering effectively in a fast-paced environment, highly adaptable
? Expertise in Java, especially Spring/Hibernate
? Strong database modeling and SQL skills, MySQL experience preferred
? Proficiency with Javascript and Javascript frameworks, especially Prototype
? Proficiency with Linux/Unix and open source tools/platforms
Pluses:
? HBase, Map/Reduce, Hadoop, NoSQL experience
? Tapestry 5 (or comparable component-based, MVC framework)
? Flash
? Facebook RESTful and JS APIs
? Self-starter who is looking to make an impact and grow into a leadership role
? Thrives in a start-up environment (ability to make decisions quickly and adapt to change)
? Fun loving and ready to rock and roll with us!!!
