Software Engineer - Analytics Apply ENGINEERING Coursera
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED As an analytics engineer, you will be building the software analysis tools that enable data-driven online learning in the Coursera platform. You will work closely with groups throughout the company to build systems that leverage data to tackle a variety of exciting challenges, many of which are unique to Coursera's innovative online education platform.
Analytics engineers draw on a diverse set of skills, ranging from statistics and software design to just plain common sense! Many of the problems we face involve figuring out how to convert the mountains of data collected through Coursera's massive online classes into quantitative insights regarding student behavior, testable hypotheses on interventions that lead to improved learning, and better tools for instructors. For example, how can we build machine learning algorithms that can accurately resolve scoring differences between multiple graders in order to accurately estimate the quality of a peer-graded assignment? Or how can we identify the behaviors that are predictive of when a student may be at risk of falling behind in an online class?
We use a wide variety of technologies, including AWS, Python, NumPy, Pandas, Hadoop, and MySQL. You don't need to come in knowing all of these; we want talented engineers who can pick up the tools they need on the fly, and who share our passion for writing code that will help millions of students across the world. If you fit this bill, apply now.
