We're seeking product-minded Android engineers with a passion for crafting category-leading, snappy, and eye-catching mobile applications. As an experienced Android developer with a mastery of Java and the Android platform, you'll be part of the Android founding team at Nextdoor, tasked with development of v1.0 of our Android app. You'll be writing elegant, well-structured, testable code as part of a small team of developers and designers who have direct influence on the concept, design and architecture of the application: from the technical details of system architecture, performance, and coding best practices all the way up to user experience polish and presentation. You are an Android devotee who is dedicated to creating flawless apps for the platform you love.Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience required.
- Extremely strong fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Expert-level knowledge of Java and the Android platform.
- Knack for creating responsive designs that translate seamlessly to multiple devices.
- Experience in full lifecyle of application development, from whiteboard through Google Play release.
- Server-side programming experience in Python strongly preferred.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Strong desire to learn about new technologies and systems.
- Want to work in San Francisco - we can help you relocate (candidates must be located within US) if necessary.
