Software Engineer - Applications Kiva Systems

For our fast growing engineering team, Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated software
engineer with interest and experience in design and implementation of client-server application
architectures. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation developing Rich Internet
Applications, and enjoy problem solving both independently and in team settings.
The Software Engineer will be responsible for:
Contributing to the design and implementation of our new application platform,
featuring monitoring and reporting of our core system data.
Documenting low level design
Participating in code reviews and testing
Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:
BS/MS in CS with 3 to 8 years experience in software development
Good experience with Java, XML and MySQL
Experience working with web technologies, JavaScript
Experience with unit test frameworks like JUnit
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desire and energy to work in a fast-paced environment previous startup experience a
plus
A sense of humor and willingness to learn new things
Other nice to have qualifications include:
Experience with Java design patterns
Experience with commercial Business Intelligence and/or OLAP solutions
Experience with RESTful web application
Experience with frameworks/tools like Spring, Hibernate.
