The frontend software engineer will design, develop and maintain the front end GUI for Aircell?s (Business Aviation) Customer and Dealer facing portal ? as part of a SCRUM based distributed development team.

Key Responsibilities:
? Hands on Development Position ? 80% of time coding.
? Provide Day to Day Technical Leadership on the Front End Tier(s) for a SOA based portal Architecture, based on Java and Web 2.0 technologies.
? Provide Level of Effort estimates for requirements.
? Review code written by onshore and offshore team.
? Coordinate development activity with offshore & junior team members
? Track project tasks, provide status and ensure tasks completed on schedule
? Troubleshoot defects and code resolutions
? Contribute to a healthy and collaborative development team with a ?Get it Done? work ethic.
? Contribute to process improvements, including researching and introducing new development tools.
? Guide implementation of best practices for application design/development, including templates and Assets
? Strong XP/SCRUM/Agile work ethic ? Ability to contribute productively to a fast paced development team, delivering demonstrable code in 2 week increments.
? Reviews and provides feedback business and technical requirements, high-level architectural designs, and interface specifications.
? Risk identification and mitigation on a daily basis ensuring appropriate communication and resolution delivery in a timely manner.

Required Skills & Experience:
? BS in Computer Science or Equivalent. Advanced degree preferred
? 3 - 10 years of experience with software development.
? At least 3 yrs of experience in Java, J2EE, JSP, Servlets, JDBC, Spring MVC and Webflow, JavaScript
? Good understanding of web server and application servers namely Apache and JBoss.
? Demonstrate collaborative capabilities and a service-level oriented, customer-focused mindset.
? Experience with the entire software development lifecycle ? including requirements analysis, design, development, deployment, testing and maintenance
? Demonstrate capabilities to work independently, with a pro-active, service-level oriented, customer-focused mindset.
? Ability to partner with various teams, soliciting help from and providing help to other departments as needed
? Superior communication skills required; demonstrable ability to communicate in both a technical and non-technical environment
? Experience and/or interest in the Airline and/or Telecommunications industries are desired.

Desirable Skills & Experience:
? Mobile development experience
