JOB POSITION: Senior Software Engineer
JOB LOCATION: St. Paul, MN
JOB SUMMARY: Designs, develops, and documents applications and implementation of new functionality Performs bug corrections release testing, and beta support which may require research and analysis. Provides system and database administration support for various environments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs moderately complex product development, systems analysis and programming activities which may require some research and analysis:
Performs development, implementation and maintenance of single product modules/sub-systems or on lower level issues of multiple products.
Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits.
Assist with estimation and planning activities
Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology.
Participate in reviewing deliverables from other development teams, including designs, test plans, and documentation help identify and resolve gaps between requirements and technical design
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree or similar in software engineering or computer science
5+ years of technical experience in product design, programming and product support.
5+ years of Cobol and/or Lawson 4GL
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Lawson 4GL and/or Cobol
Good technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design, programming and implementation.
Good analytical and design skills at multiple product level.
Good understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
PREFERRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
Development of financial applications
