DescriptionProofpoint, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated person Engineer to work with our Engineering, Marketing and Sales teams to consolidate multiple data sets into a web-accessible source, and provide a feedback loop that will provide Sales and Marketing the best mechanisms to track customers and competitors. This job will including working on back-end services (RESTful APIs) as well as with Salesforce.com. This position will report to the Business Applications Engineering manager, responsible for both internal and customer-facing services.
Responsibilities Include:
Designing and creating a scanner against known data sets and/or processing lists of data (possibly free-form, possibly computer-generated)
Processing the response data continuously, doing network lookups and storing the results into a service for on-going and future needs
Design and Generate summary reports based on the results received
Design and Publish summary data into both web pages and Salesforce.com
Requirements: The person should be familiar with RESTful Web services:
Ruby on Rails, or JAVA
RESTful Web Services/APIs
Good Communication Skills
Email networking (Sendmail, Exchange, etc.)
Salesforce.com experience (a plus)
