Description
Digg is looking for strong software engineers with extensive experience in infrastructure systems and who are excited to work on cutting edge open-source systems (Cassandra, Redis, Hadoop, RabbitMQ, Zookeeper, Thrift, HDFS). Reporting to the VP of Engineering and working closely with an elite team of developers, product managers and operations engineers, you will apply elegant solutions to complicated problems.
Responsibilities
- Write code and solve problems across Digg's platform and infrastructure
- Lead the development of Digg's infrastructure components
- Define and build high-performance, high-availability web infrastructure
- Optimize and troubleshoot complex distributed systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience with large infrastructure development
- Expert knowledge developing and debugging in Python
- Knowledge of developing and debugging C/C++ or Java on -nix
- Experience with operating system internals, filesystems, programming language design, compilers, distributed systems, and/or server architectures
- Knowledge of Unix, Networking and TCP/IP, UDP or specific protocols
- Develop cutting edge analytics infrastructure based on Hadoop, HBase and Hive
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
