The successful candidate will be responsible for new products and systems including system software design, documentation, implementation, and test of software/firmware. Researches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, by performing the following duties. Works as part of team assigned to specific projects.
Performs PC-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) design/development utilizing commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom processor boards, I/O Modules and other hardware in PC-based embedded design environment.
Utilizes toolsets available for both embedded RTOS and PC-based operating systems.
Converts customer specifications interfacing with the digital and analog/RF design efforts to insure overall system confirmation to the requirements.
Analyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
Designs, develops, and troubleshoots complex software programs for computer based systems. Designs specific enhancements and upgrades to operating systems.
Modifies existing programs to meet customer specification. May perform systems modeling, simulation and analysis, as assigned.
Formulates and designs software system, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
Writes code and completes programming, testing, and debugging of applications. Finalizes form, procedures and documentation needed for installation and maintenance of application programs.
Qualifications (include but not limited to):
Bachelor?s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Science (BSCS), or similar engineering discipline and significant related engineering experience or the equivalent in experience and education is necessary. Masters of Science in Engineering (MSEE), computer science (MSCS) a plus.
Experience in developing embedded processor code in real time applications is preferred. Must have experience in all phases of product development from initial concept through design, test, delivery, and installation.
Substantial logic and high-speed circuit design experience along with experience with circuit test/integration and product documentation is necessary.
Extensive experience using C++ and a working knowledge of several operating systems. Experience using C, C#, object oriented design, and VME or similar bus type hardware (Ethernet, Mil-Std 1553, RS-232/422). Prior RADAR experience is also a plus.
