PES is seeking a versatile software developer, willing to work in an entrepreneurial workplace, to join our engineering department. Day to day duties will include developing new products and features, supporting and maintaining existing products, and performing data analyses for internal and external customers. PES uses the following technologies and knowledge or experience with them is preferred:
Java (J2EE and Struts preferred
Ruby on Rails, version 3.0
Python
Object-Oriented Programming
Software Quality Assurance
Oracle/SQL
Windows/Linux scripting
Crystal Reports
Open source software experience, such as the Apache Software Foundation and SourceForge.
Healthcare knowledge, particularly knowledge of registries, data interchange, and laboratory data.
Knowledge of healthcare protected health information regulations
Experience with healthcare Electronic Data Interfaces such as HL7
PES deals with Protected Health Information on a daily basis. Knowledge of and compliance with HIPAA regulations is essential. Meticulous attention to detail is critical.
Mentoring will be provided by current PES staff, but the successful candidate will also need to display initiative in learning new technologies and some medical knowledge. Due to the small size of the company, daily tasks will vary greatly and are often driven by customer requests.
