Software Engineer - Database Tools Greenplum

EMC Greenplum builds the world's largest Data Warehouses at true petabyte-scale, EMC Greenplum is committed to pioneering massively parallel data-intensive analytic processing. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team and explore and develop features as a member of our Product Engineering team.
As a key member of the team, you will:

• own the design process, implementation, and verification of components that manage the Greenplum flagship database product
• develop Python programs with an eye towards deployment on large scale distributed systems
• create solutions based on customer requirements and feedback
• fix bugs and also build new features and programs
• We're serious about quality, you will also be:
  
  • writing unit tests,
  • writing automated regression tests, and
  • tracking and fixing defects as they are found
• prototype novel ideas
• turn prototypes into enterprise class software

To be successful, you will have most of the following:

• Extensive experience in Python
• Experience DBMS system development
• Familiarity with the Unix programming environments and GNU tools
• Experience with commercial software engineering methodologies
• Experience with both traditional waterfall and agile software project management styles
• Detail orientation
• Interest in creating highly usable, easy to use products
• Commitment to excellence in the finished software product
• Strong communications skills
• Degree in Computer Science
• Easy-going personality and the ability to multi-task with a diverse set of technology and people
