Software Engineer - File System Panasas
As an engineer in the storage architecture team you will be leading the design and development of object based network attached storage systems. As part of your job you will be working with other software and hardware teams to develop a high performance and reliable storage system. You will also be working with engineers from other areas to help tune the end-to-end performance of the storage cluster. The position will also expose you to Object Storage and iSCSI.Responsibilities
Overall file system module design and implementation, and enhancements of existing software
Work with Marketing to determine requirements for the storage sub-system; assist in writing driver and firmware requirements
Develop specifications for storage sub-system enhancements
Resolve difficult technical software issues and fix bugs, including critical issues found at customer sites
Assist in the debugging of device driver and system software issues
Assist in the development of system integration and regression test plans
Work with Service team to ensure maintainability and serviceability of new features
Participate in the Storage Networking Industry Association OSD standardization efforts
Participate in the training of QA and the service teams on new features that have been developed by the team.
Experience/Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years industry experience developing File System-related software products.
Extensive knowledge of C/C++, kernel level development, multi-threading / parallel programming, distributed systems, and fault-tolerance techniques.
Knowledge of network file systems protocols (NFS, CIFS, AFS) preferred.
Ability to work in and lead teams.
Plusses
Knowledge of SAN & NAS storage paradigms
Knowledge of Object Storage
Experience with NFS v4.1
Requirements:
BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent experience
