We enable site publishers to provide a simple one-button option to users to share site content with others through email, social networks, and social bookmarking. ShareThis promotes sharing of interesting content among users connected by a social graph and shared interests. We are able to accumulate significant data on sharing behavior, providing insights on interests, and influence circle of users. We have experienced significant growth both in adoption by site publishers and share actions by users. Over 130,000 publishers have incorporated the ShareThis widget driving 4 billion+ page views monthly.
ShareThis is building on its success by developing an entirely new set of applications aimed at enhancing the user experience on the Web. You will be part of a team chartered with design, implementation, and delivery of this new initiative, and various other innovative projects in the future. This is a key initiative for the company since it reflects our presence with users; as such garners significant visibility at senior levels. Responsibilities of this position include innovative product development, technology architecture, product rollout, and business integration.
If you are the ideal candidate, you will be part creative, part architect and part builder. You should be clearly passionate about user experience and social media. You should also be able to apply innovative technology to business problems, and have an outstanding technical and product sense. From a technical perspective, you must have direct domain experience in the latest web technologies relevant to front end user experience such as Ajax, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS, as well as having strong experience with Java at all levels (especially middle-tier). PHP experience is a significant plus. You must demonstrate first-hand experience in building and deploying large traffic web sites and related user interaction elements on the web. You must also demonstrate an aptitude and experience building web-applications end-to-end i.e. front-end, middle-tier, and backend data sources and be comfortable working on any/all of these components. Much of the back-end of ShareThis components are implemented as Java services.
B.S/M.S in Computer Science from a leading school or related technical discipline with a bias towards Information Architecture, and User Experience Design is desirable.
