As a Full-Stack Software Engineer you will be responsible for developing core user interface functionality for our web platform and applications. We are looking for someone to help us take our web platform for consumer-facing customization to the next level with responsive design and mobile-specific functionality.
Gemvara?s patented technology and just-in-time manufacturing offer customers millions of options to personalize each design. We have a true virtual inventory model where each piece is manufactured to order at the highest possible quality. The technical challenges in product development are significant, including navigating a world of limitless user-generated content. We are building an e-commerce product set that is unique to the industry.
What You?ll Do:
You will be
Building the next-generation personalized user experience to get our customers from more than a million options to finding and buying the perfect piece of jewelry.
Developing functionality to support our customer care representatives so they can provide customers with the best experience possible on the phone, via email, and on live chat.
Adding capabilities to help us gather and analyze accurate data on how our customers interact with the site to support our marketing efforts and improve the website.
Optimize page layouts and content to drive repeat traffic
Provide the customer to the information they need to make a purchase
Determine what tools we give our customer care reps to help them get the customer to the perfect piece of jewelry
Maintain and improve site speed
Balance SEO and user experience without overwhelming customers
Skills You?ll Need to Be Successful:
4+ years of experience in front-end development
BS in Computer Science or Engineering
Blend of skillset: 50 front-end / 30 middle-tier / 20 back-end
Expert knowledge of web technologies (HTML/CSS/JS) - we use HTML5, SASS, Compass, Angular, Backbone.js, jQuery
Experience developing with a templating engine, both server side (Twig, Sitemesh, Grails, Rails) and client side
Knowledge of PHP, ability to dive in when necessary, Symfony experience a plus
Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments
Passion for elegance in the UX, pixel perfection, and getting the details right. ? Ability to write well-abstracted, reusable code
Must be a strong contributor who drives innovation while having a good time with a great team
Must be a results-oriented, self-motivated creative team player who is driven to come up with great solutions to our problems
