Software Engineer - Hadoop Zoosk
Zoosk is looking for a Hadoop / Hive Engineer who is passionate about Big Data and Analytics. You will be responsible for creating an analytical platform that turns web traffic and click streams into useful business insights. You will own the Hadoop / Hive infrastructure from design to launch, and be in a dynamic analytics team which provides business insights to the whole organization.Our Zoosk analytics platform consists of best of breed technologies, including Hadoop, Hive, Star Schema data warehouse and multidimensional OLAP tools.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, maintain and deploy Hadoop solutions, which collect various web log data from our server clusters, and consolidate it into a centralized HDFS/Hive location for consumption
Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to aggregate our web traffic and clickstream data for datawarehouse / OLAP integration
Optimize and maintain our Hadoop Cloudera infrastructure to streamline data processing and maximize efficiency
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science / Engineering / MIS is required
Strong development experience with Hadoop / MapReduce / Hive, using an industry standard framework such as Java / Python / Ruby / Pig
5+ years of analytics application development experience
Solid understanding of data warehousing and analytics, such as web traffic reporting, click stream analysis, etc.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and/or frameworks
Previous experience with relational databases, dimensional modeling, OLAP, Business Intelligence is a big plus
Previous start up experience preferred
