The Enterprise Edition is an API-compatible implementation of Apache Hadoop with advanced enterprise features. The Data Computing Appliance is a purpose-built, high-performance Hadoop appliance.

Job ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the design and development of new features and enhancements to the Hadoop software ecosystem. You are expected to gain a deep understanding of a specific area of the Hadoop stack such as HDFS, MapReduce, HBase, Hive, Pig, etc. You will work with the Apache Hadoop community to innovate and enhance a specific area of the Hadoop software ecosystem. You will incorporate the requirements of EMC's customers to improve Hadoop for large enterprise environment. You are expected to be self-directing in a very dynamic environment.
Requirements- MS CS or equivalent required
- Strong development experience in Java and Linux environment. Scripting languages a plus.
- Experience with large-scale system software projects desirable.
- Knowledge of distributed computing and parallel programming. Experience with Hadoop strongly desired.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork skills
