The Software Engineer I
As an entry-level Software Engineer, you?ll gain exposure and in-depth knowledge of our company culture as well as our product features and functionality. Once you?re up and running, you?ll get to work alongside a team of top developers as well as product development and quality assurance professionals to create award-winning software. As a Software Engineer I, you may be tasked with learning and writing HTML5, working on the business logic side of the software using C#/.NET, implementing APIs or working on database implementation. Under general direction, develops, codes, tests and debugs features of new products and enhancements to existing Ensequence products. As a collaborative member of the team, the Engineer I is responsible for ensuring tasks are completed to written specifications and conform to engineering best practices. This engineer typically works on assigned tasks of a narrow or small scope and impact following established procedures and established guidelines and does not typically meet with customers, vendors or technical partners. The engineer typically does not make independent product decisions and performs their work under close supervision.
Essential Functions
Apply Best Practices to application and code development.
Update and edit functional and technical design specifications as assigned.
Develop accurate estimates for assigned tasks.
Code features to specification and perform unit testing for application features and enhancements.
Consult with peers on design issues that arise during implementation.
Participate in peer code and design reviews.
Accurately repair software and documents changes as assigned.
Work closely with all members of the development team (Developers, Product Owners, QA, Tech Pubs, Creative and third-party) in an Agile Environment
Provides regular task and personal progress updates to Management.
Proactively identify and drive issues to resolution.
Contribute to risk management plans.
Participate in continuous improvement of development, delivery, and testing practices
Qualifications
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or other technical degree
Experience with web-based technologies including AJAX, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML or similar related technologies a huge plus
Experience with one or more object oriented languages: C#/.NET, VB.NET, etc.
Ideal candidates should be innovative, self-motivated, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to multi-task successfully; can easily switch gears and simultaneously manage multiple job functions and responsibilities.
Candidates should display a willingness and eagerness to learn, while also offering their own insight, suggestions and feedback.
High energy, positive, results-oriented professional.
Good problem solving ability.
Experience
One to three years of applicable experience working with current software technologies and languages required to fulfill the essential functions of this position is desired. Appropriate college experience is acceptable.
