Job DescriptionPerforms product design, development, bug verification, release testing, and beta support for projects. Operates under limited supervision. Usually reports to the Software Development Manager. Typically requires three to six years of technical experience in software design and product support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
50% Performs product design and implementation activities:
Performs design, implementation and maintenance of product modules/sub-systems.
Design and implementation in order to meet project objectives.
Documentation of development work.
Code reviews with team members
Attends product design meetings.
30% Performs bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products:
Conducts unit testing and integration testing for functionality and limits on all developed features
Researches problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions to the problems.
20% Researches and understands the technical design options for implementation of product features.
Researches new technology or development tools to remain informed of current technology
Focus of the position will be writing code and doing some design work in support of our core product line. This will include writing Web UI code and the underlying infrastructure for that UI code in c# using the ASP.NET framework. The position may also be responsible for writing middle tier code in c#.
Required Skills
General
Established technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.
Demonstrated analytic and design skills at UI, middle-tier and data access layers.
Strong skills in research and analysis, project planning and implementation.
Matured understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
Aware of business issues as they impact overall project plans.
Strong communications and interpersonal skills. Advanced PC skills.
Technical
Visual Studio 2008, 2010,2012
Microsoft Team Foundation Server helpful
Basic understanding of source control management
.NET Common Library Runtime
C# required, Managed C++ helpful
Web Development
ASP.NET
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in business, software engineering or computer science; advanced degree desirable. Typically requires three to six years of experience in software design or product support.
