Software Engineer in Test MaxPoint Interactive
Job DescriptionMaxPoint Interactive is seeking a highly motivated recent/future to joining us as a Software Engineer in Test at our Austin, Texas office. They will help design and develop our test automation frameworks. The ideal candidate is passionate about test driven development and building software tools and frameworks to test and monitor complex and highly scalable software systems. This individual will be a member of the software development team championing the test cause with involvement from the very beginning of projects.
Responsibilities
Create test automation frameworks, monitoring tools, and other test-related tools
Develop and maintain automated test scripts
Plan, coordinate and conduct performance/benchmarking exercises for software application releases on Linux and Windows
Regression, system and user acceptance testing through automated testing tools
Black Box, Gray Box and/or White Box Testing
Performance load and performance testing
Set up test environments
Design, develop and improve test plans, test cases, execution reports, and other department documentation
Prepare time estimates and schedule for test activities
Identify, isolate, and document defects clearly and concisely in the defect tracking system
Execute automated test programs and scripts for existing and future projects
Preferred Skills
Experience testing highly scalable systems is desired
An understanding of HTML and XML technologies
Experience testing ASP.NET based web applications is a plus
Experience with databases and scripting languages
Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
Excellent verbal and communication skills
Understanding of Agile development methodologies is a plus
Qualifications
Recent or future college graduate with BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering (or other technical discipline with significant computer coursework)
Must be eligible to work in the United States. Those needing sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for hire as we are not able to sponsor visas at this time
A minimum 3.25 GPA required
Experience with QA methodologies and hands on scripting
