Software Engineer - Infrastructure Jawbone

As a Software Engineer on Jawbone?s Software Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for defining, developing, maintaining, and scaling the infrastructure for all of Jawbone?s software applications. Your responsibilities will include performance optimization, troubleshooting issues, defining best practices, and designing and implementing distributed applications, frameworks and data solutions to support them.We are striving to build a highly scalable, versatile platform that will allow Jawbone to deliver groundbreaking mobile experiences for a host of products via a wide variety of devices. Responsibilities:
Working closely with application developers to design and implement data solutions for application features, from selecting a storage technology to writing code.
Conducting performance tuning and optimization, including software design, query optimization, index tuning, and devising caching strategies
Performing capacity planning and identifying hardware and software requirements for meeting application needs.
Architecting, designing and implementing software services and/or tools that provide reliability, high availability, performance and scalability for our infrastructure.
Required Skills:
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Experience with design and development of high volume, high availability applications and systems, preferably with Python.
Experience working with large data stores, preferably MySQL and/or MongoDB
Knowledge of filesystems, concurrency, multithreading, server architectures, and distributed systems
