Opportunity: Software Engineer Intern
We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic Java Engineer intern to help us improve the quality of our software through writing automated tests and refactoring existing code. This position requires a balance of knowledge, ingenuity and the ability to solve problems outside of the candidate?s core area of expertise. Researching, troubleshooting and prototyping are key tools required for success. A qualified candidate will have an opportunity to experience professional software development at a dynamic and growing company.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, prototype, implement, test and document solutions for the GetWellNetwork system.
Enhance product quality through the writing of automated tests.
Contribute to all phases of the software development cycle.
Required Skills
Working towards a BS in Computer Science or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.
Development experience in Java and Java related technologies (JSP, J2EE, EJB, Hibernate, Struts).
Experience with JUnit, Eclipse IDE, and JBoss are a plus.
Knowledge of and ability to apply common Design Patterns.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and comfort refactoring unfamiliar code.
Required Experience
1-2 years Java development experience. Candidate should be able to provide a Java code sample.
Experience with Open Source tools and applications.
