Responsible for design, development, and support of Yelp?s software frameworks and tools for next generation software systems, to ensure that the Yelp website performs quickly and reliably;
Design and build backend services for scaling the existing infrastructure to help support more web traffic and expand to international markets;
Engineer artifacts and services for localization and internationalization of consumer-based products, providing locale-specific user interfaces to improve user experience;
Develop geo-location services tailored for elastic search engines and social networking platforms;
Lead development of full-stack features tailored for both web and mobile web applications;
Provide maintenance of systems and bug fixing of existing software, tools, and/or systems;
Analyze applications for performance bottlenecks;
Serve as a knowledge resource for software, tools, and/or systems, including end user support of alpha and beta release cycles;
Communicate with engineering team to determine technical requirements and disseminating information regarding project status to infrastructure, operations, and product teams; and,
Participating in discussions surrounding future applications and/or systems regarding their appropriateness of solution.
Minimum Requirements: A Master?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and two (2) years of experience in the job offered, or as an Engineer (Computer Products), Intern, Research Developer or a related occupation
In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered, or as an Engineer (Computer Products), Intern, Research Developer, or a related occupation.
