Job Description
We are seeking mid-level developers who will bring demonstrable expertise to the team and make an immediate impact. As a software engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a powerful web application using some of the latest technologies alongside a brilliant dev team committed to high quality solutions. This position will involve working directly with subject matter experts to analyze requirements and create functional specifications. You must bring a passion for programming and a drive for innovation. We employ daily builds, continuous integration, unit testing, source control management, code reviews, and manual and automated quality assurance to attain that goal.
Please Note: Aptitude testing is required for all positions
Duties
Developing new product features using Java, JSPs/Servlets, JDBC, HTML/XML, Web Services, JavaScript, AJAX utilizing our agile design methodology
Producing high quality code while adhering to BigMachines standard coding practices for Java, UI, Database, Security, Performance and Scalability
Working in a dynamic team contributing ideas and constructive criticism
Analyzing requirements, designing solutions, and implementing high quality deliverables
Demonstrating quality of the software through intelligent unit testing
Seting a good example for junior developers to learn from while displaying effective communication and motivational skills
Adhering to all BigMachines security policies, standards and procedures in the performance of job duties
Participating in security training provided by BigMachines
Reporting any potential security weakness, exposure or suspicious indications to manager
Skills/Requirements
Strong programming, problem solving, reasoning, and analytical skills
Experience with Source Control Management, and familiarity with Java IDE
Ability to work constructively with developers, QA, and management towards a common goal
Ability to design and defend solutions, and take constructive criticism and apply it to your solutions
Ability to write quality code that can be unit tested effectively
Desire to learn new systems and techniques, and to stay current with the software world
Minimum of BA in Computer Science or related software engineering discipline, or equivalent
