GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Movius Interactive is seeking a Software Engineer to work on our expanding
product portfolio. As a Software Engineer, you will work with product
management to transition requirements into design and then into realization
in Movius products. The candidate must possess a unique blend of design and hands-on technical skills
including building robust and scalable software solutions, troubleshooting issues, producing innovative
designs that do the job more effectively and with better value.
This position will interface across functions including product line management, customer service,
verification/validation, Engineering and SCM. This position will also work collectively with third-party
vendors in joint venture development efforts. Responsibilities include the design, development and
delivery of software solutions on Movius platforms on time and with high quality as well as providing
timely fixes for field related issues. Position will also be responsible for ensuring source code integrity by
managing code modifications/propagations to both the development and maintenance release software
streams. Candidate must be a self-starter, detail-oriented, flexible team player, think strategically, drive
issues to conclusion, and be able to develop creative solutions.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions related to software and setup errors for field engineers,
technicians, and customers.
Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensure issues are resolved in a
timely fashion.
Involved in functional specification, design and development of call processing features for the embedded
platform.
Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Multi-tasking and efficient time management
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS &
SKILL:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Ability to Identify and prioritize important tasks independently.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Require a Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
Working experience with Java (J2ee, SOAP, C/C++, CORE, JAVA, MySql, Subversion, and
Linux operating systems to include system administration.
Knowledge of IP routing technology, configuration and administration.
Experience in the Telecommunications Industry is preferred.
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures for network administration.
Working knowledge of common Microsoft Office programs and tools.
Working experience with SS7 including IS41 and GSM Protocols.
3 - 5 years working experience in overall software design and development.
