Software Engineer Factual

Description: Factual is looking for experienced and enthusiastic software engineers to work on our unique open data platform. We're using some of the latest open-source technologies to meet our complex technical needs involving high-availability, scaling, and responsiveness. This position is full-time and based in our main office in West Los Angeles, CA.

o Responsibilities:
+ Work with our product and design teams to define feature specifications
+ Work as part of a close-knit team of developers to solve hard problems quickly and elegantly
+ Work with our operations team to build, deploy, and monitor our systems
o Requirements:
+ B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or technical field
+ Deep knowledge of Java or Ruby Experience with relational databases and SQL Experience with network programming
o Desired:
+ Knowledge of the latest web technologies: XHTML, Javascript, CSS
+ Experience with a MapReduce system
+ Experience with a NoSQL system such as HBase or Cassandra Data scraping experience
+ Experience with scalable and highly available back-end systems
+ Experience with Agile software development.
