Of course, the engineering team still has the same issue any company experiences: getting consensus on where to go to lunch and dodging oncoming Nerf warfare.
Responsibilities:
Zipcar has a long and successful history internally building the tools our employees need to run the business. When you join the Member Services & Fleet Operations Engineering team, you get a chance to guide development across our new Ruby on Rails platform, our mobile app suite, and our call center tools.
Work closely with the Fleet and Member Services departments to write the software that helps the company run operations.
Work with next-generation Ruby on Rails site supporting Fleet Operations and Member Services.
Develop Mobile Apps that support Fleet Operations employees across the globe.
Work with Javascript-based reservation management software
Tackle tough car-sharing engineering problems that focuses on core business processes - (such as the maintenance for our vehicles).
Qualifications:
Recent graduates to experience developers
Must have a solid foundation in web software development, including HTML, JavaScript, CSS
Preferred experience with both NOSQL and relational database queries - SQL programming; Oracle PL/SQL is a plus
Command of your favorite scripting and server side languages; for example: Ruby, PHP, Perl, Python
Familiar with the Linux operating system and utilities
