Summary:
Software Engineer will help with the development of
GeneDisc software products. This engineer must be experienced
with cross-platform development, databases, data
analysis/visualization, and interaction with hardware systems
The main goal will be integration into the development team
resulting in a streamlined and rapid development with built in quality checks
Accountabilities:
Work with marketing to develop new features/enhance existing
Development of refactored cross-platform code
Development of test methods to ensure quality
Fix bugs, troubleshooting problems
Database development
Operating system configuration (e.g. networking)
Investigate new technologies that may be applied to the products
Perform usability testing with customer
Aid in development of other products as needed
Mentor other software engineers
Must be able to convert complex marketing
and analysis requirements into easy to use and easy to understand user interface and do this while following good software engineering practices
Understanding of Linux, cross platform
development, networking issues, TCP/IP and database development
Be able to work in an ?Agile? environment where output is
regularly reviewed
Qualifications:
Life Sciences application development
Linux (Ubuntu), Windows (Windows XP, Windows 7) experience
Agile Software Development
Qt or Cross Platform experience
Trouble Shooting
Team Player
C++/Java/.Net
Linux/Windows configuration
ERES, GxP compliance
10+ years? experience programming in Life Sciences
5+ years developing on Linux platforms
5+ years C++/.Net/Java
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
