Overview:
SS8 is looking for a SW Engineer to deliver significant capabilities as a member of the development group.
As a software developer, you will be responsible for design, development, unit test and integration of modules and features for the SS8 Communications Forensics and Analytics platform. This is a hands-on position requiring exposure to the full software development life cycle, strong technical and programming background.
In this job, you will deliver massive capabilities that will make a difference. Your software will be deployed across the globe.
Required Skill Set:

Master's in computer science and engineering
Expert Object Oriented programming skills in C++, Java.
An expert understanding of JEE framework namely Hibernate, Messaging (JMS, Active MQ), REST.
Good understanding of unstructured and relational databases specifically MySQL, Solr and Lucene.
Experience in development of multithreaded and multiprocessor products (system calls, inter-process communication, and synchronization mechanisms) on UNIX platforms preferably on Linux.
Experience in full development product life cycle with a proven record of delivering product and features on time with high quality.
Passionate, intelligent and good problem solving required. Creativity a must.
A self motivated team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently with little supervision in a team environment.


Desired Skills

Desired to have 2+ years of software development experience.
Experience with browser based application development using HTML, JSP and Google Web Toolkit (GWT)
Experience and/or knowledge of large database design to manage, store and retrieve large volumes of data.
Familiarity with VOIP and voice related IP technologies like SIP, RTP, and multi-media codecs.
Good understanding of large software architectures and applications

Familiarity with software development environments such as Eclipse

Familiarity with ClearCase/ClearQuest and other modern development tools is desirable.
Knowledge of protocol test tools (tcpdump, snoop, Ethereal, Ethertest, etc) highly desirable.
Exposure to telecommunication network architectures: GPRS, CDMA2000, VoIP, Packet Cable, Soft Switch, Circuit Switch, SMS, IMS.
